About

AMANDA Computer Club Linz

The formerly called AMDA (Austrian Macintosh Developer Association) was founded in 1988 mainly by developers.

As more and more Mac users became members, the AMDA changed from an association solely devoted to developers to a user group for all Mac enthusiasts. The Austrian Macintosh UserGroup & Developer Association was founded.

At the beginning of 1994, the AMDA split into a developer organization in Vienna and two user groups in Linz and Salzburg.

To avoid naming conflicts and more and more Windows, DOS and Unix Users became members the AMDA-Linz, we decided to change its name to A.M.A.N.D.A ComputerClub Linz.

AMANDA-Link is the BBS of AMANDA and is one of the core parts of the organization (this service is deaktivated since 1998). There are, however, a few more benefits provided by the AMANDA ComputerClub Linz:

The annual fee for AMANDA Computer Club Linz membership is € 12,00. The annual fee for international members is US$ 20,00. For further information please contact us!
